Astoundingly, in one week, police killed more civilians than the total number of police officers killed in that same  year.  Civilians took action.  Many face legal charges. The charges stem from the bold actions they participated in against the fatal shootings by police.  Many blocked streets bringing traffic to a standstill and halted businesses during the height of seasonal shopping to make statements about police brutality. Their description is relevant to the story of  Sandra Bland and a host of others whose deaths have provoked widespread outrage.

Now the outrage continues. Kaepernick knelt to protest police brutality, then four years later a police officer viciously took the life of George Floyd when he took a knee to his neck.
